Dog behavior problems require more caution and experience to solve safely and efficiently. They can stem from genetic pre-dispositions, poor socialization, emotional or physical traumas, medical conditions, etc. Therefore fixing them requires a more in-depth understanding of dog behavior and potential causes of behavior.
We have a great deal of experience working with these types of problems using science based, dog-friendly methods. Whether your dog is struggling with common or complex behavioral issues, our approach to behavior modification can work wonders for your furry friend.
Common Behavior Issues:
Book a virtual consultation with one of our experienced trainers and start transforming your dog's behavior today.
*Initial Consult is a Prerequisite for all training engagements
In order to optimize the results of training, all behavior consultations are done virtually. In-person training sessions are available after the Initial Consultation.
Why virtual? Changing your dog’s behavior begins with reducing their stress. Virtual Consultations allow us to meet in a relaxed manner without causing fear or distress to your dog. All you have to do is have a internet connection and we’ll do the rest!
During this meeting we will ask questions and we will answer any and all questions you may have. We set you up for any future training that you will purchase.
Our Consultation is our way of determining what is going on with your dog.
Invite family (everyone involved with the dog's life) to be a part of the call!
After we ask you a few targeted questions we'll teach you everything you need to know about what's going on with your dog and the steps to change that behavior! dog behavior training dog behavior problems dog aggression Milford Shelton Stratford
*Prerequisite for all training engagements
All new clients are required to begin with an on-line initial consultation. We will discuss your training goals and create a personalized training plan.
Once we discuss your dog and training needs, we will advise on a training package.
All consults are to answer all your questions and get started with a training plan.
The Consultation is a stand-alone service. It is treated as a single session. It is intended to be the first part of a training plan, with the second part being single training sessions or a multi-session package.
Behavior concerns, including, but not limited to: separation anxiety, aggression, fear, obsessive-compulsive behaviors, and general reactivity (on or off leash), require a more comprehensive evaluation (60-90 minutes in length), and the fee is $175.
Please fill out intake form and someone will contact you to schedule your consult.
Is your dog panicking when you leave her alone? Are your neighbors beginning to complain about incessant barking? Is your dog destroying your house? Separation Anxiety is a heartbreaking condition, and it can be difficult to navigate.
How does the process work?
Why is this training virtual? Training for separation anxiety requires that we teach your dog how to be confident when they spend time alone at home. We will be observing them together, via live video chat, so they can practice being truly alone. Virtual training like this will give us a clear picture of what is going on when you leave the house, without any interference of your dog’s routine. This will all be discussed during our phone conversation after you have completed our questionnaire.
Full payment within 24 hours after dates are scheduled is required to confirm your appointments.
Private Lessons are non-refundable and non-transferrable. We do not offer refunds on unscheduled lessons. All sales and payments are final.
One Smart Dog, LLC reserves the right to terminate the training contract at any time before or during its term if Trainer determines that a danger exists to the health and safety of the public, Trainer, owner or dog. Should the Trainer or Owner terminate the training contract at any time prior to completion, all fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Contracts for on-going training are automatically terminated if we do not hear from the client for a period of 90 days. After 90 days, on-going training contract will cease. No refund will be issued for any lessons or classes remaining on contract.
Our services are not guaranteed. Dog behavior is not static and can change over time due to developmental periods, aging, and health. Pet owners influence their dog’s behavior and must do the assigned training homework for optimal results.
Clients are responsible for providing the necessary materials needed for training. Including, but not limited to: treats, toys, leash, collar, harness, etc.
One Smart Dog uses reward-based methods that are backed by science to modify your dog's behavior. Because a reward makes your dog more likely to repeat the behavior, positive reinforcement is one of your most powerful tools for shaping or changing your dog’s behavior. The use of pain, fear, or intimidation may lead to fear or aggression.
All no-show sessions will be forfeited automatically. There is $25 no-show fee that must be paid after a missed appointment within 24 hours in order to continue training.
