Who: Puppies between 8-16 weeks 

(we prefer that pups start between 8-13 weeks of age)

If you’ve recently brought home a new four-legged addition and want to get things started on the right paw, Puppy Pre K  is the perfect group class for you!

We will cover basic manners and preventing bad habits and behavior problems. We will introduce basic obedience such as sit, down, come, leave it and follow. We will also discuss important things like grooming, house training, and socialization. We will show you good games to play with your puppy that are both fun and teach your puppy self control.

6 – 50 minute group lessons given once a week. Small group classes, human family members are welcome. Please bring vaccination records to first class.

First class is without dogs.

We do love when the family participates in training, however, children must be 6 yrs of age to attend class.

Preparation Basic Manners

Cost: $250 plus tax for 6 weeks

Who: Dogs 4month of age and older

Want a well mannered dog who listens, doesn’t jump on guests, or drag you around?  We can teach how to get control so you enjoy living with your dog.

We’ll train the following core behaviors:

 Sit, Down, Place, Come, Stay, Walk on a Loose Leash, and Leave It. 

Best of all, your dog learns to calmly handle the distractions of other people and dogs. We use positive, reward-based techniques to help you build your relationship with your dog and get great results.

This class is geared toward dogs and puppies 16 weeks of age and older.

Suitable for first timers of all ages and as a refresher class. 

6 – 50 minute group lessons given once a week. Small group classes, human family members are welcome. Please bring vaccination records to first class.

Smart Dog Basics

(Requires instructor approval)

Congratulations! You graduated from Basic Manners Obedience. Now let’s cement prior skills and teach new exercises. 

•  Skills taught: Heeling with changes of pace and direction, Off-leash heeling, Distance sits, Distance downs, Come with greater distance and distractions, Come to front, Staying with greater time, distance and distractions, Out of sight stays, Stand for examination.
•  Introduces training on  K-9 Klimbs.
•  Prerequisites: Basic Manners or instructor’s approval.

Dogs attend all five classes.

Who:  Dogs who have completed Smart Dog Intermediate Level

In this class you will: 

•  Improve your dog’s ability to work around distractions
• Build skills and teamwork
•  Improve your dog’s manners when around people or other dogs
• Improve your dog’s attention and focus
•  Prep for CGC test and/or Therapy Dog Test

*We will practice many of the exercises you would encounter on the certification exam* 

*This class does not guarantee that you will pass the certification exam but it sure can help.

Who can take this class?

Your dog must understand basic obedience commands including polite walking on a leash, sit, down, stay, and come (all on leash), and be unfailingly friendly with other dogs and people. They must also be calm and not easily stressed in new situations and environments.

Who: Dogs over 5 months of age who have completed Basic Manners.

Having your dog run to you when you call is one of the most satisfying aspects of your relationship with your dog. The focus of this class is building a reliable recall even in the face of distraction. You will learn to prompt, reinforce and save recalls in challenging situations.  

In this single class you will learn:

• How to work at your dog’s level to stay successful.
• Be proactive as needed to keep your dog safe and comfortable.
• What is reinforcing for your dog and be able to use this knowledge to effect positive training results.
•  How to apply class learning to problem solve approaches to real life situations.
• How to teach your dog one of the most important skills they can have for their safety and and your enjoyment of your relationship with your best friend.

Who: Dogs over 5 months of age who have completed Basic Manners.    

Why teach tricks and agility? Not just because they are fun! These activities can be a valuable learning experience for you and your dog. They help you teach your dog to think and solve problems with you as a team, help you perfect your timing, and engage your dog’s interest in fun activities.

Use this class to round out your dog’s education, show off his natural talent, and challenge him mentally while doing agility jumps, tunnels and some tricks as well.

EARN A TRICK DOG TITLE

At each level you will be able to take the AKC tests to earn Trick Dog titles.

Who: Dogs over 5mo who have completed Basic Manners and are easily distracted around people, dogs, or things in the environment.

Calm and Focused is a training program for students and dogs who are ready to strengthen their communication and connection around distractions.  This is a fun curriculum taught while your dog is on-leash in our training center. Turn stress into confidence and distraction into focus.  Build your dog’s ability to relax, focus, and work reliably in either stimulating or stressful situations using training games that increase attention, reduce the power of stressors and the pull of distractions while you and your dog have fun in a friendly, safe, and supportive environment.  With an emphasis on handler focus and impulse control in the presence of common distractions, this class is a must  for any handler of a young, easily distracted, impulsive or insecure dog.  

 If your dog barks, growls, or is aggressive to people or dogs, your dog is not eligible for this class.

Cost: $180 plus tax 4 weeks

Who: Dogs  who have completed  Basic Manners or Intermediate.

Obstacle Fun

 You and your dog will have fun exploring and navigating a variety of obstacles. This is a fun way to introduce agility. This a a great way to strengthen your bond with your dog while having fun. It will help with confidence and body proprioception. 

Fun with Rally Obedience

This class will also incorporate some beginner Rally O.

Rally is an interesting test of obedience skills where you and your dog navigate a course of signage at your own pace–think of it as an obstacle course with directions. You interpret and properly navigate the signs, while your dog learns to follow your lead. 

Competitive Rally is timed and point scored, but this four-week class is not competitive. It is for fun and time spent with your dog! Dogs are always on leash and work on portions of the course independently with the goal of the completion of a whole course.

Cost: $250 plus tax

Who: Dogs who bark, lunge, or growl at other dogs, people. or other triggers.

4 week session 

Class is LIVE on-line each week.

Does your dog lunge, bark, growl, or overreact to dogs, people, or other stimuli?  This program  will teach you how to handle the difficult situations that arise when you live with or walk a reactive dog. 

In this class you will learn:

• How to manage your reactive dog to set them up for success
• Leash and handling skills that will help you to get out of a situation if your dog becomes reactive
• To learn pattern games that will help: grow your dog's confidence, and minimize rehearsal of the undesirable behavior.
• Coping Skills for your dog when out and about
•   Foundation skills that will prepare you for any class and any situation. 

The class includes:

• Four 1-hour Zoom calls with your instructor and classmates
• 1-on-1 feedback from your instructor on all of your posted homework videos & comments
• Access to our Reactive Dog Facebook Group

The online learning platform is a great way to get your dog ready for classes without putting them in a situation they haven't been prepared for just yet!

We have had great success transferring our instruction and training to an on-line format for this class! The process is easy, we are able to go into detail, and we are also able to truly focus where your struggles are and provide solutions!

This program is not only good for dogs that react to other dogs; it is also the only option for dogs that are reactive to people, including those coming into your home, or dogs spooked by bikes, joggers, or other indoor or outdoor triggers.

Cost: $45 plus tax per class

Who: Dogs over 5 months of age who have completed Puppy Pre K or Basic Manners.

 it's time to take your skills out into the real world!

Public Pooches takes place out and about in the real world.  Not only will you and your dog have great practical experience in different places full of distractions, but you’ll learn fun places to take your canine companion.  Each class we will  choose a location to practice your dogs's skills in public.

We will visit locations such as local parks, dog friendly stores, restaurants, and breweries.

This class can be taken as many times as you’d like. It is a different location every time we hold the class.
