This comprehensive class equips you with the positive reinforcement techniques needed to help your dog feel comfortable and cooperative during veterinary exams and grooming appointments. Through gentle, step-by-step exercises, you'll build your dog's confidence and reduce anxiety associated with handling and potentially uncomfortable procedures.
Course Outline:

You'll learn techniques to ensure your dog remains calm and secure during necessary physical examinations.
- Exercise 4: Muzzle - Building Positive Associations: Learn how to introduce and condition your dog to wear a muzzle comfortably and without fear. This essential skill ensures safety for both your dog and professionals when necessary.
- Exercise 5: Feet/Nails - Happy Paw Handling: This covers desensitizing your dog to having their paws handled and nails trimmed. You'll learn techniques to make nail care a positive and stress-free experience.
- Exercise 6: Mouth/Teeth - Easy Oral Exams and Care: This focuses on making mouth handling and teeth examinations a positive experience for your dog. You'll learn how to gently open their mouth and examine their teeth, preparing them for dental cleanings and at-home care.
- Exercise 7: Medication - Stress-Free Pill Taking: Discover positive methods for administering oral medication to your dog without struggle or anxiety. You'll learn techniques to make pill-taking a calm and cooperative process.
- Exercise 8: Injection/Blood Draw - Cooperative Needle Handling: This focuses on desensitizing your dog to the sensation of touch and pressure associated with injections and blood draws. You'll learn how to create positive associations with these necessary procedures.
- Exercise 9: Eyes - Comfortable Eye Exams and Care: Learn how to gently handle your dog's face and around their eyes, preparing them for eye examinations and the administration of eye medications if needed.
- Exercise 10: Ears - Relaxed Ear Handling and Cleaning: This section focuses on making ear handling and cleaning a comfortable experience for your dog. You'll learn techniques to gently examine and clean their ears without causing stress.
